Connect Google Sheets

Google Sheets works both ways. Import leads from a sheet you already have by pasting its link, or keep a sheet filled with your 1Dashboard leads.

What it brings in

  • Import: rows from the tab you pick, with the columns you choose.
  • Export: your leads, with the fields you choose, written to a sheet (up to 5,000 rows per sync).

Before you start

  • A Google account that can open the sheet. For export, it needs edit access.
  • For import, a header row (row 1 by default) and at least an email or phone column, so leads can be matched.

Steps

Connect Google

  1. In 1Dashboard, open Integrations and click Connect on the Google Sheets card.
  2. Sign in with Google and allow access. If Google says the app isn’t verified yet, choose Advanced, then continue to 1Dashboard.

Import leads from a sheet

  1. On the Google Sheets card, click Manage sheets, then Import existing sheet.
  2. Open your sheet in Google Sheets, copy the link from the address bar and paste it.
  3. Pick the tab to import from and confirm the header row.
  4. Tick the columns to import. Unticked columns are left out.
  5. Choose how to match leads: by email (recommended) or by phone. If a row is edited later, the matching lead is updated instead of duplicated.
  6. Save. The first import runs and new leads appear in a minute or two.

Export your leads to a sheet

The first Google sign-in is read-only. To export, click Grant write access in Manage sheets and approve it once.

  1. In Manage sheets, click Create a leads sheet.
  2. Paste the link of a sheet you can edit, or click Create new sheet and 1Dashboard creates one in your Google Drive with a tab named “Leads”.
  3. Pick the fields you want as columns.
  4. Choose which leads (all leads, the last 30 days or the last year) and how often to refresh (every 15 minutes, hourly or manual only). Save.

How often it syncs

  • Imported sheets are read every 15 minutes.
  • Exported sheets refresh on the cadence you picked: every 15 minutes, hourly, or only when you click Sync now.
  • To run one now, open Manage sheets and click Sync now next to it.

Each card on the Integrations page shows when it last synced, and flags anything that needs you.

Common problems

“That doesn’t look like a Google Sheets link”

Open the sheet itself (not Drive) and copy the link from the browser’s address bar. It starts with https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/.

“Sheet not found, or the connected Google account has no access”

Share the sheet with the Google account you connected, or reconnect with an account that can open it.

The spreadsheet can no longer be opened

The sheet was deleted, renamed or unshared. Share it with the connected Google account again, or pick another sheet in Manage sheets.

“This Google connection is read-only”

Export needs edit access. Click Grant write access in Manage sheets, approve it, then try again.

Google sign-in expired

Click Reconnect Google on the card or in Manage sheets. Your sheets and settings are kept.

Disconnect

  • To stop one sheet: open Manage sheets, click Remove next to it and confirm. Leads already imported stay in 1Dashboard.
  • To stop Google Sheets entirely: click Disconnect on the card. Import and export stop. You can reconnect at any time.
